SKETCH-OF-THE-DAY 049

So, as you may have noticed, my keeping-up with the daily sketch thing....well....I had to all but throw in the towel a little over a week ago.  I have such an enormous amount of work and it has been getting compacted as of late as I struggle to churn out a good product whilst staying true to the deadlines imposed.  As much fun as it is, the daily sketch was the only thing that I could cut back on in order to stave off insanity.  Also, I've been in Germany on a Magic:the Gathering mission for the last week - it should have been only six days except our plane had electrical problems half way across the Atlantic on the return trip and we had to turn around and fly back to Germany!  Good times - good times.

So anyway, my log jam of work is still going on but at least the Germany trip is out of the way and April 10th is my light at the end of the workload tunnel.  Expect sporadic Daily Sketch postings for the next two weeks or so and then hopefully I'll get back on track and do some major catch-ups.  So enjoy the handful of sketches (including the last two in my 80's movie series) I accomplished while learning to spreche wenig Deutsch and suffer through long, tedious days of travel.

  1. I love the idea behind sketches 42, 44, 45, 46, 48 and 49.

  3. Sketch-A-Day isn't supposed to be a burden, it's supposed to be fun and helpful, so relax. If you miss a few days, or a week, here and there, no big deal.

However, and no pressure mind you, I am loving your sketches. One of the big highlights of my day is to surf thru the various blogs and see your new posts!

BTW - Congrats on all the work you're getting. It must feel pretty good, although stressful, to be so 'in-demand'!

  4. I hear ya about the blog and agree. But I fear if I ease off the rhythm too much, I'll start to get way lazy and go like months without a post! Well, probably not that long but I think the frequency of posts is part of the charm and keeps people coming back for more - so in that sense, I don't want to disappoint!

I also agree how fun it is to toggle through everyone else's latest additions to their blog. Even while not posting, I was still checking out the posts from my hotel in Germany.

And I do appreciate the jobs and the amount of jobs being offered to me. My problem is saying "yes" too much and then overestimating my ability to keep up with my own schedule. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. Fortunately, the work is still fun and that's what keeps me from imploding.
